He went to military school, during which time he found escape, participating in several sports including amateur wrestling, soccer, soccer, and track and field.

The nickname “Uhaa Nation” was coined by his coach while coaching weightlifting during high school.

The nickname, according to his coach, referred to Uhaa as “strong as a nation.”

Born of Nigerian origin, his father originally hails from Benue State in the mid-belt region of Nigeria. His mother is from Uganda. They separated after a few years of marriage.

Uhaa grew up in Atlanta, Georgia, and became a devoted fan of professional wrestling in his early teens, saying his favorites were Dwayne Johnson (as The Rock), Steve Austin and Kurt Angle, among others.

He first trained at the Curtis Hughes World Alliance 4 (WWA4) training school/promotion in Atlanta.

At the end of training, he made his debut on August 17, 2009, as a Uhaa Nation.

After few years of competing at the local level, Uhaa established himself in more high-profile promotions, including Dragon Gate Wrestling, Evolve and Full Pro between 2011 and 2015.

By October 2014, Uhaa’s talent had caught the world’s attention and he was invited to test camp.

Standing at 6 feet tall and weighing at least 240 pounds, Wuhaa excelled in top flight wrestling and power wrestling.

He was enrolled in WWE and spent his first years training with WWE NXT from 2014 to 2016. He made his main roster debut on Monday Night RAW on April 4, 2016.

WWE Career

With his Olympian stature and agility, Apollo Crews combines the brute strength of The Ultimate Warrior with the maneuverability of a top cruiserweight, confusing opponents with his ground game and dizzying aerial attack.

He was already a notorious five-timer when he moved from the independent scene to WWE NXT, and his stunning record in Full Sail sent the Georgia native to the WWE main roster within a year of his debut.

Almost immediately after his move to Monday Night Raw at the 2017 Superstar Shake-Up, Titus O’Neal courted him, eager to sign the budding young prodigy to Titus Worldwide.

He soon accepted the offer to become the first Superstar to join the brand, a move that paid dividends for Apollo, who scored several impressive wins in Team Red and even the Raw main event in a daring showdown against Braun Strowman.

Even though he didn’t have the guts to fight the giant, Apollo looked like a Superstar, born for the bright lights of the main event.

Although Apollo moved to SmackDown for a while, he soon returned Monday night as a result of a draft that was about to end.

As his star only continued to grow and he became a SmackDown superstar again after the 2020 WWE Draft, the WWE Universe will surely soon realize what the rest of the world already knew: the potential of this crew knows no bounds, and it’s only a matter of time before he rests on Mount Olympus of sports and entertainment.
