How To Remove A Sink Stopper When Stuck

Question

When your sink stopper gets stuck, you ask yourself ”what can i do” or ”are there tips on how to remove a sink stopper”.

Of course yes, they are lot of ways to remove a sink stopper when stuck.

How To Remove A Sink Stopper

A stuck sink stopper prevents water from draining out of the sink, which prevents you from using the sink until it is removed.

If the sink stopper gets stuck, simply pulling it doesn’t remove it, there are a few little tricks you can use to try to remove the plug without disassembling the sink.

To do this you need a suction cup and a plier.

Then follow this easy steps;

Twist the stopper and lift it up if it has a small knob in the center. This may break the seal holding the stopper in place, allowing you to remove it. If the stopper does not have a knob, proceed to the next step.

Place a suction cup on top of a metal sink stopper that does not have a knob, and push down on the suction cup to create a seal on the top of the stopper. Lift up to remove the stopper with the suction cup. If the metal sink stopper is still stuck, proceed.

Remove the pivot rod nut under the sink by turning it counterclockwise with a pair of pliers to remove the pivot rod. The pivot rod is a small rod extending from the sink’s drain beneath the sink, held in place by the pivot rod nut. Remove the pivot rod and pull the stopper up and out of the drain.

Turn the stopper so that the hole in the bottom faces the pivot rod’s position in the drain, and place the metal sink stopper back into the drain. Reinstall the pivot rod and tighten the pivot rod nut to secure it.

You can easily solve your stuck sink stopper issues with these guidelines.
