The following is a list of 2020/2021 scholarships for students from Africa and other Developing Countries that You need to apply for, before they close in May. Some of these scholarships are also offered for international students generally.

University of Sussex Mandela Scholarship 2020/2021 for African Masters Students

The Mandela Scholarship was established in 1973 to protest against the injustice of apartheid and raise the profile of Nelson Mandela’s struggle for freedom.

 

Deadline Extended: Commonwealth Distance-Learning Scholarships 2020/2021 for Developing Countries

Commonwealth Distance Learning program are Scholarships for students from africa and lower middle income Commonwealth countries, for part-time Master’s study by distance learning on selected courses offered by UK universities.

 

KNUST/MasterCard Foundation Scholarship for Ghanaian & African Students

Application Deadline: 1st May

The Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) Ghana is offering MasterCard Foundation Scholarships for students from Africa and Ghana.

University of Westminster Full Undergraduate Scholarships for Developing Countries

Application Deadline: 29th May

The University of Westminster is offering scholarships aimed at fully funding three students from developing countries to study full-time Undergraduate programs.

University of Edinburgh –University of Leiden Joint Funded PhD Studentships 

Application Deadline: 1st May

Two of the studentships will be hosted at the University of Edinburgh’s Centre of African Studies (CAS) and two at African Studies Centre Leiden (ASCL).

TWAS-DFG Cooperation Visits to Germany Program for Researchers from sub-Saharan Africa

Application Deadline: 18th May

Postdoctoral researchers from sub-Saharan Africa, including South Africa, can go on a ‘Co-operation Visit’ lasting three months to an institute in Germany.

University of Nottingham Africa Undergraduate Excellence Award for African Students

Application Deadline: 1st May

The Africa Undergraduate Excellence Award is a new scholarship for high-achieving international students from Africa, covering a contribution towards tuition fees in the first year of your degree course at the University of Nottingham.

Government of Austria ITH Fully-funded Masters Scholarships Developing Countries

Application Deadline: 1st May

Limited number of scholarships for students from Africa are  offered every year by the Austrian Development Cooperation.

Makerere University MasterCard Scholarships for African Students

Application Deadline: 15th May

Makerere University, through the MasterCard Foundation is offering full scholarships to  young African undergraduates to educate and empower the next generation of African leaders at Makerere University.

University of Sheffield Africa Scholarship for African Students

Application Deadline: 11th May

In partnership with the University of Sheffield Africa Scholarship Trust, the Department of Geography are pleased to offer a scholarship for a postgraduate taught student from Africa.

Miles Morland Foundation African Scholarship at University of East Anglia

Application Deadline: 1st May

The Miles Morland Foundation African Scholarship is awarded to a Postgraduate student within the School of Literature, Drama and Creative Writing to enable them to study on the MA Creative Writing (Prose Fiction) course.

Fully-Funded Rotary Peace Fellowship for Masters and Professional Programs

Application Deadline: 31st May

Rotary International offers the fully funded Rotary Peace Fellowship for Masters Degree and Professional Development Certificate for young professionals around the world

University of Reading African Real Estate Society (AfRES) Scholarship for African Students 

Application Deadline: 1st May

University of Reading through the African Real Estate Society (AfRES) is offering one full fee waiver to an African student for one of the  Real Estate & Planning postgraduate programmes.
