Teams of children come together for the launch of the First Lego League at North Cambridge Academy (NCA)

The 30 students had a chance to start building their Lego kits and programming their Lego robots. Three of this year’s sponsored teams: NCA and The Grove and Shirley primary schools met on Monday (October 8) at the academy.

First Lego League is a global science and technology challenge, during which teams of students aged between nine and 16 build and programme an autonomous robot, using a Lego Mindstorm kit.

The Cambridge regional tournament will be held be at the University of Cambridge’s Department of Engineering on Tuesday, January 15.
